Pet Foodbank Services
Animal FoodBank UK charity help people and families, feed their pets, anywhere across England, Scotland and Wales. We hope to include Northern Ireland in the future.
How to apply for help.
Our guidelines:
Criteria for applying for support:
- You are in financial crisis.
- Unexpected change in circumstances.
- Homeless.
- Victim of natural disasters, e.g. flooding.
- Victim of disasters, e.g. fire.
- You are in a controlling relationship, or you are fleeing domestic abuse.
- You have had an unexpected vet or household bill and you are on a low income.
- A professional has identified you are in need, and they make a referral on your behalf.
Get in touch if you think you are eligible.
You are not automatically eligible for support by being disabled or in receipt of benefits!
Ways to get in touch :
1. Make a post with your details and reason for asking for help, ( anonymous option is available ).
2. An admin or moderator will make contact.
When you get in touch, please tell us about your current circumstances,
- where you are situated in the UK?
- what your current circumstances are and why you need support?
- what are your pets, ages, how many and breed details if appropriate?
- do they eat wet or dry food?
- do they have a diagnosed condition which means they need to be on a specific diet ?
We will then let you know what support is available.
How do I get the food :
Your food will be ready either for delivery or for you to collect from a designated agreed place at an agreed time and day.
PLEASE READ
1. In some circumstances we can also provide urgent support the same day, so your pet does not go without food.
2. You are not automatically eligible for support by being disabled or in receipt of benefits.
3. We are not a long-term solution; we are for short term support.
4. We are not there primarily to support additional pets coming into your household.
5. What would you do if you could not have the support from the pet food bank, what are your options short term, or long term?
6. Please do not overly prescribe what you want as we can only give what we have had donated. We will always try and match dietary needs where possible.
7. We are not a free pet food shop! We are there for those who have an identifiable need.
8. When things are improved for you, please consider donating back to the pet food bank.
